European beech

European beech is Fagus sylvatica, a pale, fine-textured hardwood common in European furniture.

It machines cleanly, bends well with steam and takes an even finish. It can move noticeably if moisture changes.

Beech is not naturally durable outdoors unless modified or protected for the use.
