Through-and-through sawn
Through-and-through sawing cuts a log into parallel boards without turning it between cuts.
The resulting set can include flat, rift and quarter grain as the cuts pass through the log. Keeping the sequence together makes matching easier.
This sawing method is also called plain or boule sawing in some markets. The name does not describe drying or surface finish.
