An oiled finish uses penetrating or curing oil to protect wood and bring out its colour.
Products differ in build, sheen, drying time and food-contact claims. Some hardwax oils behave more like a thin film than simple oil.
Record the exact product for future maintenance. Fresh oil must cure fully before packing or use.
