Calibration
Calibration compares a measuring tool with a known reference so its readings can be trusted within stated limits.
Moisture meters, scales and image-based measurement systems may each need their own check. Calibration records should identify the instrument and date.
A calibrated tool can still be used badly. Probe placement, species settings and capture setup also affect the result.
