Solid wood
Solid wood is wood cut from a tree rather than a sheet made from fibres, particles or veneer over a core.
A solid slab can be flattened, joined, repaired and refinished with normal woodworking methods. Its grain continues through the thickness.
Solid wood still may contain glue in a repair or joint. The term describes the main material, not every part of the finished object.
