River table
A river table uses one or two live-edge boards with a resin channel between them.
What it means#
A river table is built by setting live-edge boards apart and filling the gap with tinted or clear resin. Some designs use one board split down the middle, others use matched slabs.
Why buyers care#
The resin will show every curve, void, and colour change at the edge. Poorly dried boards can move against the resin and create cracks or gaps.
What to check#
Check moisture content, thickness, edge condition, and whether the pair can flatten to the same finished height. For a matched pair, compare length, colour, grain direction, and defect placement. Leave room for trimming after the pour and final surfacing.
