Cut to list
Cut to list means sawing material into the sizes stated in an agreed cutting list.
It can reduce freight size and workshop handling, but it commits the layout before the wood arrives. Grain, defects and matching should guide each cut.
Check tolerances and whether sizes are rough or final. Leave machining allowance where parts will be jointed or planed.
