Due diligence
Due diligence is the process of collecting information, assessing risk and addressing concerns before regulated wood is traded.
For timber, it can cover species, quantity, country of production, geolocation, suppliers and evidence of legal harvest. The exact duty depends on the business role and transaction.
A document folder alone is not the whole process. The information must describe the goods and support the risk assessment.
