A piece is one distinct physical item offered for sale.
For slabs, piece-level selling means the photos, measurements and condition belong to the exact board you will receive. It is not a sample for interchangeable stock.
A finished table or object can also be a piece. The surrounding category tells you whether the listing is raw material or completed work.
