Timber
Timber is wood prepared for building or making, though regional English uses the word differently.
British and European trade copy often uses timber where North American copy uses lumber. The word can cover logs, sawn stock or structural material depending on context.
For a purchase, rely on the product type and dimensions. Timber by itself does not tell you whether the piece is a slab, board or beam.
