Questions

Is it suitable for food-contact wood?

Yes. Oil is purified pharmaceutical-grade white mineral oil (Ph. Eur.). Wipe off excess oil and buff the balm before using the wood with food.

How often should I use it?

Oil monthly, or when the wood looks pale or dry. Apply a thin layer of Butter after oiling, or when water stops beading.

Can I use it on varnished wood?

Use it on unfinished or oiled wood. Do not apply it to varnished surfaces. Never put wooden boards in a dishwasher or leave them soaking.

Why use both Oil and Butter?

Oil soaks into the wood and helps prevent drying. Butter adds a beeswax layer for a water-resistant finish. Butter alone does not replace oiling a very dry board.

How should I store the products?

Keep both tightly closed, away from direct sunlight and heat. Each bottle and jar carries a batch number.

How do I treat a new or very dry board?

On a new board, apply Oil 3–4 times in the first week. For very dry wood, repeat oiling over 2–3 days. Leave it overnight, wipe off excess, then apply a thin layer of Butter and buff.
