A moisture meter estimates moisture in wood using pins or an electromagnetic sensor.
Pin meters read between electrodes at a chosen depth. Pinless meters scan an area but need correct settings and contact.
Record species setting, location, depth and date with the number. One surface reading cannot describe a thick slab completely.
