Natural feature

A natural feature is a visible part of the wood that may add character without making the piece unsound.

Knots, colour shifts, figure and small stable checks may be sold as features when clearly shown. Their value depends on the design.

Feature is not a way to hide damage. Active decay, insects or a structural problem should be named directly.
