Defects and features
Warp is a change from the intended flat or straight shape of wood.
Cup curves across the width, bow runs along the length and twist lifts corners out of one plane. A slab can show more than one form.
Measure warp before planning final thickness. Flattening removes wood, so severe warp can make a nominally thick slab finish too thin.
